Dear parents, kids, and coaches,

Further to our last advisory notice regarding developments concerning the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Funsports team wanted to let everyone know that, earlier today, the Town of North Hempstead issued an announcement which says, in pertinent part, that “due to the coronavirus situation the Town of North Hempstead as of today is cancelling all permits and gatherings until April 20th.”  The Town of North Hempstead further stated: “As this is an unforeseen event, we will all be working through it together with you to make sure everyone’s concerns are addressed.  Everyone please stay well during this time and I hope we can resume our normal lives sooner than later.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.”

The Town of North Hempstead oversees the issuance of field permits for Funsports flag football program for fields located at Manhasset Valley Park in Manhasset, and at Harbor Links Field Nos. 3 and 4 in Port Washington.  Given this development, and considering that our program is subject to the mandates issued by Nassau County and other local authorities, including any field permits issued by the Town of North Hempstead, we will be suspending the spring 2020 season of Funsports Friday Night Flag Football “Under the Lights” to Friday, April 24th.  Therefore, the April 3rd clinic at Manhasset Valley Field and any regular season games scheduled for April 17th on Manhasset Valley Field and Harbor Links Field Nos. 3 & 4 are hereby canceled.  We will provide further announcements as developments unfold and we will revisit the status of the spring 2020 season in the coming days and weeks when there is more information available to us from Federal, State and local authorities.

In the meantime, we thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during this unique, trying, and unsettling time, and reiterate our prior recommendations that you please follow all published guidelines by the Center for Disease Control, New York State Department of Health and Nassau County Department of Health.  Hoping everyone stays well and safe, we remain, in the meantime, with best regards,

Sincerely,

The Funsports Team (Sal, Mike, and George)
